George Floyd
Today marks the anniversary of George Floyd’s death.
A moment that shook the world and reignited a global call for justice, equity, and humanity. It was also the moment that ignited the spark for Black Minds Matter UK.
In the wake of unimaginable pain, we came together not just to protest, but to heal. The trauma, the grief, the collective exhaustion—it was too much to carry alone. We needed a space to breathe, to feel, to process and that space became the seed of this charity. We thank each and every one of you that came together to support us.
Black Minds Matter UK was born from the urgent need to create safety. A space where Black people could access therapy, mental health support, and most importantly—community. Today, we honour George Floyd by continuing the work that began in his memory: making mental health support free, accessible, and culturally relevant for Black people across the UK.
His life mattered.
Black lives matter.
Black minds matter.
