  • Black Minds Matter UK is a fully registered charity operating in the UK with a

    mission to create and champion safe and accessible mental health support with,

    and for Black community.

    Our vision is to see a community of Black people readily accessing Mental Health

    support, recovering fully from mental illness and thriving.

    Here’s a brief overview of our journey so far:

    June 2020 - BMMUK Founded by Agnes Mwakatuma and Annie Heyes

    July 2020- Approximately 2600 signed up to the waiting list to access therapy with BMM UK

    August 2020- Waiting list closed to manage the 2600 people who signed up to access therapy with BMM UK, allowing us to connect with and fully vet qualified Black therapists in the UK.

    December 1st 2020- BMMUK official launch, first 500 people on the waiting list to start therapy with additional launches to follow.

    January 2021- Official charity registration granted to BMMUK.

    March 2021- Launch of the #BMMUK21K challenge to find long term donors and help raise additional funds for those looking to access therapy with BMMUK.

    November 2021- BMMUK launch their first Male mental health awareness event.

  • First you’ll make an enquiry for therapy by filling out the BMMUK self referral form

    Providing you are eligible for support and we are in a position to fund therapy, you will then receive the BMMUK agreements for you to sign.Once all documents are reviewed and signed we will then send you for a comprehensive initial assessment.

    Once we receive confirmation from our senior assessors that we are able to meet your identified needs we will match you with a qualified Black therapist for 10 weeks of online therapy.
