Black Minds Matter UK provides up to 10 sessions of fully funded 121 talking therapy for the Black Community, delivered by our amazing cohort of registered associate Black therapists.
We invite you to register your interest in receiving talking therapy with us by filling in the form below.
Please select a convenient time for a mini-assessment with our trained staff to determine your eligibility and readiness for therapy. If you are deemed eligible, you will be placed on our official waitlist, and we will contact you when you reach the top of the list to conduct a comprehensive assessment and match you with a therapist best suited to meet your needs. If, however, you are not eligible or ready for therapy, we will assist you by directing you to appropriate organisations or resources that can provide the necessary support.
Please note that the criteria for you to access our service is as follows:
You reside in the UK
You are Black African, Black Carribean or Mixed Heritage with one parent being Black African or Black Carribean
You are 18 years old and above
You are below 18 but are willing to work with an adult relative (family therapy)
You are ready and commited to the process
You have access to a quiet and safe space to conduct your therapy - public spaces will not be appropriate
You have a good online connection as the therapy will be online via video call
PLEASE NOTE: We are NOT an emergency crisis service. If you or your loved ones are experiencing an acute mental health crisis or having suicidal thoughts, please dial 999 or 111 option 2 for the appropriate (emergency) service.
Call Samaritans on 116 123, Sane on 0300 304 7000 or text Shout on 85258 for telephone or text support.
Please note that because of high demand, we can’t be sure how long you will be on the list, however, in the background, we are working hard to secure funds to be able to process each and every one of our clients in good time. We will however keep you updated as to the progress. Thank you for your patience.
